Professor Suellen Miller met with Rwandan President Paul Kagame during his visit to UCSF’s Global Health Sciences on February 27, 2014. Dr. Miller was one of four UCSF faculty to present their research. Professor Miller presented on the NASG and how its integration into the health system can reduce maternal mortality.
President Kagame is so determined to reduce maternal mortality in Rwanda that he is personally involved in every maternal death audit undertaken. Rwanda is one of the few countries projected to meet MDG 5, the 75% reduction of maternal mortality by 2015.
