Every Mother Counts is an advocacy and mobilization campaign to increase education and support for maternal and child health. Every Mother Counts seeks to engage new audiences to better understand the challenges and the solutions while encouraging them to take action to improve the lives of girls and women worldwide.
The International Museum of Women is an innovative online museum that showcases art, stories and ideas to celebrate, inspire and advance the lives of women around the world. Its new online exhibition, MAMA: Motherhood Around the Globe explores the realities and ideas of a new global generation of mothers. The exhibition aims to turn inspiration into action, helping fuel a worldwide movement of advocates for mothers’ human rights and advances in maternal health.
Christy Turlington Burns – Honorary Event Host and Supporter.
Christy is well known for her modeling career but she is also an advocate for maternal rights and is studying for her Master of Public Health (MPH) at Columbia University. Christy is the founder of Every Mother Counts and she has just completed a film on maternal health called ‘No Woman, No Cry,‘which premiers on April 20, 2010 at the Tribecca Film Festival. Dr. Miller is on the Advisory Board for Christy’s film, and Christy has offered to support The Safe Motherhood Program on her website and for our event. Read more about Christy.
