This event was held just before Mother’s Day to enable us to celebrate our own mothers while remembering those who die becoming mothers. Thanks to all who were involved and who attended this fantastic event. Special thanks to Mark Tuschman and Susan Rae Ross, the photographers who donated their beautiful work to the Safe Motherhood Program.
Many pictures were sold and everyone was deeply moved by the speeches including one from Elizabeth Stinson who vividly recalled her own experience of hemorrhage following the birth of her child and how Dr. Miller saved her life. Also very inspiring was Adeoti Oshinowo, a medical student from Nigeria who explained what a real difference the NASG makes in developing countries and how much it means for medical staff to have something like this that they can use to save lives.
