        Holiday greeting from Safe Motherhood Director

As we enter the holiday season, I would like to thank you for your support this year.With your help we have brought the NASG to hundreds of women in Africa and Asia, have spread the results of our NASG research through scientific journals and international conferences, and moved into the final phase of our research in Zambia and Zimbabwe.This newsletter is dedictated to the  300,000+ women that died this year from pregnancy and childbirth complications along with our sincere wishes that next year fewer women die so needlessly.
