In partnership with UCSF’s Global Health Sciences, Safe Motherhood presented this SOLD OUT event! Supermodel, advocate, and supporter of the Safe Motherhood Program, Christy Turlington Burns presented her new film documentary about maternal mortality – ‘No Woman, No Cry’. Following the screening, Christy, along with maternal health experts Dr. Suellen Miller, Director of our Safe Motherhood Program and Nan Strauss from Amnesty International and co-author of Deadly Delivery: The Maternal Health Care Crisis in the USA, held a panel discussion on childbirth and maternal health in the US and abroad, which was moderated by Dr. Sally Rankin, Interim Dean, UCSF School of Nursing.
This was a spectacular event, informative and moving. Thanks to all those involved!
